Exhibits - Introduction
Exhibits covers three distinct activities which will be hosted in and around Halls 1 and 2 of the Convention Center. We will be publishing more information on each of these in the coming months.
The Dealers' Room
The Dealers' Room (also known to some as the Hucksters' Room) is the Worldcon's shopping mall. Some 200 tables laid out with everything you can think of - but especially books. DVDs, comics, prints, clothing. Did we mention the books? Reproduction weaponry. Model kits. Jewellery. Oh yes - and the books. Thousands of them. Tens of thousands, in fact, from dozens of dealers, from rare, second hand and antiquarian to new releases and even pre-releases.
We will be accepting Dealers' Room bookings from October 2010. Table costs will typically be in line with those for recent Worldcons ($200-250 per table for the 5 days). Table staff will also need to be members of the Convention - see our registration information for more details.
For inquiries, or to express interest, we can be contacted at dealers@renovationsf.org. We will hold all expressions of interest on file for the coming months and contact you with full information when we are ready to accept bookings.
The Art Show
The Worldcon Art Show is quite simply one of the largest and most concentrated collections of original science fiction and fantasy art that you will see anywhere in the world - and most of it is for sale! Any member can enter their art into the show, which features everything from enthusiastic amateurs to Hugo and Chesley Award winning professionals. Prices range from just a few tens of dollars to tens of thousands. Artists pay a hanging fee for the display space they wish to use, plus a commission on the art they actually sell.
We will be accepting Art Show bookings from October 2010. Attending artists will also need to be members of the Convention - see our registration information for more details.

Fan Tables
If you would like to reserve a fan table for your organization, please send a request to fan-tables@renovationsf.org, describing what group you represent. Preference will be given to seated Worldcons, bids for future conventions, and local and regional conventions, but we will try to satisfy as many requests as possible. Please note that you will not be able to sell merchandise at fan tables, other than memberships and convention-related promotional material.
Fixed Exhibits
The exhibits will also include a wide range of other exhibits, some unique to Renovation and others which traditionally appear at Worldcon each year. These include:
- Guest Of Honor Exhibits, which highlight the careers and work of each of our Guests.
- The Hugo Award Exhibit, featuring many actual Hugo trophies spanning the near-60 year
history of the award.
- The World Science Fiction Society (WSFS) Exhibit on the history of Worldcon - historic
photos, t-shirts, press clippings, badges and other artifacts and information.
- The Pro and Fan Galleries. These exhibits feature high quality photographs of many
leading professionals and fans, past and present.
- The Masquerade / Costume Exhibit. These exhibits let you get up close (but not quite touching
distance!) with some of the fabulous costumes people have made and worn.
- Special Exhibits. These will be commissioned specifically for Reno, and may be concerned with science, technology, aspects of science fiction or anything else that takes our fancy. Time will tell!
